Escape from the stresses and strains of everyday life and join us for a relaxing yet informative five-day break encompassing the rich cultural and gastronomic delights of south west France. Cookery demonstrations of the local cuisine - such as the preparation of foie gras - exploring the area and visiting a Bordeaux vineyard for a wine-tasting are some of the events in the program. You will be staying in the heart of a small village in the gently rolling Dordogne countryside at Audrey Friedman's fine 15th century French chateau. The building goes back to long before the French Revolution, but nonetheless there were wars to fight and the turrets show holes where muskets were fired from. In your spare time why not stroll around the village - which has a bar and a bakery - or try a dip in the heated swimming pool in the grounds of the chateau. And if you're feeling less energetic you can take tea in the 15th century orangerie looking out on the garden.
