The house is privately situated in one of the most sought-after areas of the Dordogne, in a valley with a large garden with the most glorious outlook of uninterrupted views.
The village of Montagrier has an excellent primary school, local restaurant, bar and post office. Tocane-Saint-Apre (1 mile) is bigger, with an excellent seconday school, two butchers, two bakers, a bank, a superette and a market on Mondays.
Riberac (8 miles) provides a comprehensive range of services, local shops, pharmacies, DIY and building supply stores, some large supermarkets, and a large Friday market, one of the biggest in the Dordogne. Brantome (16 miles) is "the Venice of the Perigord".
Larger towns in the area are Perigueux (16 miles), which has a major hospital, Angouleme (40 miles), Bergerac (40 miles). Bordeaux (80 miles) is the nearest big city and heart of the Bordeaux wine region.
Bergerac, Bordeaux and Limoges (70 miles) all have airports serving the UK. Angouleme (on the Paris-Bordeaux TGV line) and Perigueux have excellent rail connections.
