How to get here

Directions and some details of car parking for Glyde House, Glydegate, Bradford BD5 0BQ.

The best way to describe the location of Glyde House is to say “directly opposite the Ice Rink”, which is situated in Little Horton Lane, and just up from the Alhambra. Across Little Horton Lane and up a bit from the National Media Museum. (Unfortunately “Glydegate” doesn’t feature on most maps). "Our" entrance to Glyde House is in fact in Little Horton Lane.

There is limited space for cars alongside Glyde House. This is intended for use by artists, who have to unload gear/instruments, and those with mobility problems.

There is usually plenty of space at Radwell Drive Car Park, which is 1 from 6 pm to midnight and is well-lit. It’s a 3 or 4 minute walk to the venue.

You will see directions for it as you come up Little Horton Lane (passing Glyde House on your right): go straight ahead at the first traffic lights, then move to right hand lane to go through next traffic lights continuing to bear right, take the first exit off the roundabout then a hard left immediately into Neal Street: at the end of Neal street you cross Radwell Drive into the car park.

To walk from Radwell Drive car park, cross the dual carriageway (Senior Way) via the pedestrian crossing, then turn left up slight hill, follow pavement round till you come near to the Ice Rink building, from where you can cross to Glyde House by way of the traffic light crossings.

There is a large car park on Sharpe Steet behind the National Media Museum. This is also subject to a charge of 1 from 6 pm to midnight. To get to this, go straight ahead at the first traffic lights, as before (ie as if going to Radwell Drive car park), but stay in left lane. Turn left into William Street, shortly after the traffic lights, the car park is straight ahead. This is likely to busy if there is something on at the Alhambra Theatre or the surrounding area.

There is random street parking available in, for example Chester Street, Morley Street, though this is fairly limited.

The above directions are from the city centre: for those coming from other directions – or in fact for everyone - this rough guide should be used in conjunction with a map or street atlas.

There is a link to a Google map on the Glyde House website. To see it, click on the following:

Sorry this is a bit wordy, it’s very difficult to give both concise and detailed directions and try to keep them simple, as I’ve just found out!
