Greetings one and all
Just a quick one to remind you that this Thursday, 20 March 2003, we have a veritable cornucopia of talent. Headline guest is the well-know and much loved Jon HARVISON, who has done us the honour of a couple of floor spots in recent weeks. Good to have him and his big voice and thoughtful songs back for a main spot.
But we also (inshallah) have a double-header Featured Support slot. Karl Dallas has been booked for months. Then he went to Iraq as part of the Human Shield project. I simply do not know if he has come back, or is coming back (as are several of the shields, I hear, after being asked to shield military targets, which wasn't the idea.) If he is back, no doubt he'll tell us this and anything else. A more recent addition is Mancunian performer Darren Poyzer, who had to shift from a date a few weeks ago. Darren has worked with Karl on a number of gigs and activities, and is a superb performer. As Darren observes, Thursday could well be a pretty seminal day in the history of the world. This could be an emotional evening. Resist the temptation to sit at home watching the news - come out and join with others to express yourselves.
The following week (27 March) was the nearest Singers and Musicians we could get to St Patrick's Day, so that's the theme.
Remember what is coming up in April and May - Paul Tiernan (April 3), Vin Garbutt (April 10), Bill Jones and Sarah Wright (April 24), Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies (May 8) . . . all of these with class featured support acts. It's going to be a busy few months. See you there.

(Just back from two weeks in China, with yet another garishly coloured guitar. You'll have to come and see what colour. And this one plugs in . . . )
