TOPIC FOLK CLUB, BRADFORD
At the Bradford Irish Club, Rebecca Street, BD1 2RX
Newsletter No 135 - August 2013
Hello again everyone,
Just a very brief note to remind you that although we don't have any guest nights in August there will be a singers and musicians night on each of the Thursdays, starting at 8.15 pm, entry of course is free. We have tried to arrange for there to be an MC each time, but should this not prove possible on any week, well just keep calm and carry on.
A final reminder about the Shuttle Shuffle Festival to be held at Factory Street Studios, Unit 9, Factory Street, Bradford BD94 9NW over the weekend of 17th/18th August. It's the first festival of its kind and will feature music of different genres with the Topic having its own dedicated stage. Roger Davies, Bella Gaffney and Plumhall are some - only some - of the many Topic favourites who will be appearing over the course of the weekend.
The festival, which encompasses arts as well as music, is in aid of the charity The Piece Project, whose aim is aim to create life-enhancing music experiences for the community and widen participation in the most disadvantaged communities in an inspiring and creative environment. All the performers are providing their services free for this worthwhile cause.
Tickets are reasonably priced at £10 for a day ticket, £15 for the weekend with discounts for groups and young persons. All the different stages will be running throughout both days, so the audience will be able to move from genre to genre to experience the different styles of music on offer. There will be food and other stalls, a bar and lots of creative things happening. Sounds good!
Further information, which is being updated all the time, is available on the website www.theshuttleshufflefestival.co.uk <http://www.theshuttleshufflefestival.co.uk/> or on facebook www.facebook.com/ShuttleShuffleFestival <http://www.facebook.com/ShuttleShuffleFestival> . It would be great to see you at the festival, which hopefully will become an annual event.
Well, that's it for now. The next newsletter will come out a bit early to give you an idea of the sumptuous offerings which will make up our Autumn season. Until then, enjoy the weather which is at last being kind to us all.
Best wishes
