Topic Folk Club Bradford Newsletter February 2007 Coc.k and Bottle, 93 Barkerend Road
Greetings: and apologies for an earlier than usual posting:
This is just to remind you all that the end of February and beginning of March is not quite as initially billed in Tykes News, or on the A5 fliers. This week (8 February) we have Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer as planned, with Featured Support from Roger Davies. Should be a really great night of wonderful music.
Next week (15 February) we have Pete Morton as planned. Another great night. This time there will be no featured support, so a great opportunity for our quality Floor Singers to make an appearance. Introduce yourself to MC Neil by 8.30 and he’ll do his best to fit everyone in.
The week after (22 February) will actually be the brilliant Hall Brothers, and not the Singers an Musicians originally billed. Humour and choreography guaranteed, as well as great songs and musicianship. There will be Featured Support from Dave Haigh, and still a slot or two for any floor singer.
The first week in March (1 March) will now be the Singers and Musicians. This is a night for anyone who wants to perform, under warm and sympathetic conditions.
Thenceforth, back to the original schedule: 8 March Grace Notes (+ FS Simon Alexander) 15 March DH – Mulberry Blue and Laura Hockenhull 22 March John Wright (+ supporting musicians) 29 March Mark Newman (+ FS Whitney Gin) 5 April Martin Carthy (+ Floor Singers) 12 April Steve Tilston (+FS Siobhan and Chris Nelson) 19 April Singers and Musicians
More about all these artists on our website, as usual. And there’ll be a proper Newsletter early March.See you all some Thursday at the C.ock and Bottle at one or more of the above events. 8.30 start. Be there by then if you want a floor spot, which are available every night even where a Featured Support artist is booked. No smoking in the club room.
