Hello again everyone, and a Happy Yorkshire Day to you all!
Just a brief note to remind you that although we don't usually have any guest nights in August there will be a singers and musicians night on each of the Thursdays, ie, 3rd, 10th,17th and 24th starting at 7.30pm (entry £1). There will be an MC each week: the sessions are very informal, so feel free to come down and sing a song, play a tune, read a poem, or just listen.
HOWEVER: this year we do have a guest on the last Thursday of the month, 31st August:
The Jigantics
The Jigantics are a band from the UK who have previously released three critically acclaimed albums on Rawtone Records. They are a four-piece unit with founder members Mark Cole and Martin Fitzgibbon being joined by Sarah Kelly on vocals and bass, plus master guitarist, songwriter and vocalist Keith Thompson. Throughout Europe this band enjoys rave reviews for their live performances The Jigantics unique eclectic sound folk, acoustic, country, rock and roll their way through a blend of musical influences melded into something that defies cliched categorisation.

I'll try to get the next newsletter out a bit earlier than usual to let you know what's coming up for the start of our Autumn season,
Topic Zoom Sessions: a reminder that there won't be a session in August: they will be resuming again in September.
SOME NON-TOPIC STUFF GOING ON....
On Friday 4th August at 7.30 pm Roger Davies and his band are performing in the upstairs room at Groove Pad. Free entry.
On Monday August 7th Liz Narey's Bingley First Monday Folk presents Jason McNiff, an excellent local singer/songwriter from Bradford.
A "very nice surprise group" will be on before Jason.
Venue: The Ryshworth Club, Keighley Road,Crossflatts, BD16 2HB. Doors open 7 pm, music 7.30 pm. Free entry but donation to the hat/raffle.
